Our start

Our start

Working from Arnhem to make not just the Netherlands or Europe more sustainable, but the whole world. That mile-high ambition was announced by the ambassadors and founders of the Clean Mobility Center at the official launch on April 21st. It was met with more than 350 eager visitors, which directly submitted hundreds of ideas and projects that the Clean Mobility Center can get to work on.

Vincent Roes, chair of the recently established foundation, was first to the stage during the launch at Kleefse Waard Industrial Park, where the Clean Mobility Center is located. “We’ve seen that a complex problem like making mobility more sustainable can only be solved by working together. Partial solutions by individual companies are not enough.”

“The Clean Mobility Center aims to be a catalyst for this collaboration to accelerate innovation,” Patrick Langevoort adds. “We are happy to have finally started and are calling on other parties to join.”

The need for this initiative can be seen from the enthusiastic audience at the official opening, where a whopping 15 people – from Honorary Consul of the Netherlands Freddy Heinzel to Arnhem mayor Herman Kaiser and Member of Parliament Bea Schouten – symbolically cut the ribbon.

The participating parties also expressed enthusiasm about the launch of this market-initiated center. Bert Zoetbrood, CEO of DEKRA in the Netherlands and globally responsible for the Product Testing & Certification business unit: “Our global activities have shown us the importance of and the possibilities in clean, smart and safe mobility. We are happy that the Clean Mobility Center is housed at our international headquarters in Arnhem.”

Guest speaker and sustainable entrepreneur Ruud Koornstra underlines the fact that something amazing is happening in this area: “Today, a coal-fired power plant was opened in Rotterdam. Here, you’re launching the Clean Mobility Center. That says it all.”
